1991 VW MK2 Golf GTi

SOLD

Brief

A very nicely restored MK2 Golf GTi. (Big Bumper model)

Extremely solid car prior to any refurbishments, photos are available of the car prior/during and after the body restoration, which was carried out professionally at Gladwins Body Repair Centre.
Very nicely trimmed half leather seats, perfect wheels, and many new mechanical parts finish this car off perfectly.

This car drives fantastically, everything feels nice and tight, ideal car for a GTi enthusiast to take to shows, and enjoy.

Paintwork:

This car has had a very high quality repaint, not a cheap blow-over.
Paintwork has no inclusions, runs or distortions, and all body panels are flat.
If you are after the perfect paint finish then this car is for you…..

History

This GTi has some previous MOT’s, and a number of receipts for some of the works carried out recently.
Unfortunately some of the paperwork has been mislaid.

However, common sense is all that is needed to appreciate that many, many parts are brand new on the vehicle, and that all work has been carried out to a high standard.

Body & Paintwork

The bodywork is as you would expect from a car which has just undergone a full professional repaint.

A high gloss, flat finish with no bubbling, or corrosion present on the car, this car really does look fantastic, and will have admiring comments on the condition wherever you may choose to drive it.
The wheels have also been fully, professionally refurbished, very well, with no kerbing or markings on the wheels.

We have pictures available of the car, before, during and after the body restoration, and these show that the car was in good condition and did not require any new panels.
The car was very solid indeed, and has simply been brought back to its best.

Interior & Trim

The interior benefits from half leather trimmed seats, with red piping and original centres, and this compliments the car perfectly.

The rear seats are in extremely good condition, have barely been used since the re trim, the fronts are also extremely good, with no bolster wear, or leather ‘scuffing’.
The only slight flaw is the passenger seat base has a very small hole.

Electric windows work smoothly, instruments are in good condition, all switches work, and unlike many others, the MFD works just as it should do.

Engine

The engine runs perfectly well, nice and strong with no unwanted noises from the engine at all.
Although the mileage indicated is a little high, the previous keeper stripped the engine and rebuilt to ‘freshen up the engine’, although unfortunately this is not recorded in the history file.
However, on hearing the engine and driving the car, it is evident that this is a nice healthy engine indeed.

The car has very recently had a major service in way of, distributor cap, rotor arm, HT leads, spark plugs, cambelt, sump gasket, and fresh oil & oil filter.
The gear linkage and bushes have been replaced, so the gear change is nice and positive, unlike on many of these vehicles.

The only modification to the engine is a K&N air filter.

Running Gear

This particular Golf drives as well as it looks, with many new parts having been recently fitted.
The car benefits from brand new tyres on the perfectly refurbished original BBS wheels, as well as new brakes.

A positively great car to drive, with no knocks or rattles from the suspension, positive steering and great brakes.
A nice tight overall feel to the car, takes you back to the glory days in this very nice little GTi.
