The Sagaris is known as being the TVR that TVR ‘got right’.

Early TVR’s are well known for being lots of fun but not exactly being competent when shown some corners, where as with the Sagaris it was not only fast, but it also handled very well when faced with some twisty tarmac.

History

The original & only owner of this vehicle, visited The TVR Centre & was given a Sagaris on test.

He immediately fell in love with the car, but decided against the bright paint colour of the test car, as it got ‘too much’ attention in London.
So the original order form specifies a black car was ordered, with black interior. A revised order form then shows Starmist Grey was chosen instead & that is the car you see here.

All order forms, correspondence & invoices are within the history file.
Along with these, the spare key, original booklets in original binder & current MOT certificate are present.

Used sparingly for the first two years of its life, this Sagaris was then put into heated storage where it remained until very recently.
The first two services were carried out by The TVR Centre & we have just carried out a full recommission service, which included an upgraded clutch slave cylinder (as a preventative as the originals are known to fail), spark plugs, new tyres (original tyres are still with the car also) & a full go through top to bottom.

Ready to either be enjoyed or to join a collection, this Sagaris will be sure to please the new owner.

Body & Paintwork

As can be seen from the pictures, the paintwork on this Sagaris is in great condition.

Whilst many of the Sagaris’s were specified in bright colours, the original owner decided they wanted something a little more subtle & aggressive.
Having benefitted from a machine polish as part of the prep for the car coming to market, it looks stunning, with the metallic really ‘popping’.

The wheels are in original Anthracite finish, with only a couple of very tiny marks present, they still have the original TVR badge print & are in original finish.

All badge outers have been replaced with new items so badging all looks fantastic.

All glass is in great condition as you would expect of such a low mileage car, likewise all lights are in great condition.

Interior & Trim

TVR’s have always been known for the quirky interior designs, the Sagaris is no different.

However, what is different inside the Sagaris when compared to older TVR’s, is the fit & finish is much superior to earlier TVR’s.
This example with its low mileage, still presents very well indeed.

The trim specification when ordered new was anthracite leather with red stitching & mulberry leather seat inserts, radio surround, inner dash & gaitor surround.
Seat backs were also trimmed & air conditioning was optioned, along with an audio system upgrade which still sounds very impressive today.

All switches & buttons work as they should do, the air conditioning has been re-gassed & operates perfectly.
The speedo cluster/multi function display all works correctly giving multitudes of information.

A really well looked after example in superb condition throughout.

Engine

The somewhat legendary Speed Six engine.

The Sagaris had the 4.0L version of the Speed Six, being an aluminium block & head meant weight was kept to a minimum, with this being the case & the engine being set quite far back it helped maintain fantastic front end turn in with understeer being kept to a minimum.

This particular engine is very quiet, it starts without any issue & performs exactly as it should do. No hesitations through the rev range at all & as advertised by TVR, the throttle response is instant.
We have given the car a thorough service, which included the obvious oil & filter change, spark plugs, air filter & so on.

Tappets were done only 562 miles ago.

The engine bay presents very nicely as you would of course expect.

With a claimed 406bhp & weight was listed as around 1,080kg, the Sagaris is still a fast car today, with 0-60mph claimed to be completed in under 4 seconds.
No traction control, no ABS, no air bags – these are a car to be respected.

Running Gear

Having been in dry storage, the underside/running gear of this car are fantastic.

The car drives superb, with great braking, a beautiful gear change with a perfectly operating clutch & brilliant grip.
