We have had a large number of Impreza 22B’s through our doors, be it within our showroom where we have had many lovely 22B’s including a 270 mile example, or within our workshop where we have restored multiple 22B’s for customers to a very high level.
Originally imported in 1999, this 22B has been in the UK almost since being a new car.
Service receipts date back to 2001, as do the MOT certificates.
Clearly having been well maintained & loved through its life, the car went to Roger Clark Motorsport in 2018 for a full strip & rebuild to really make it a stand out example.
As these things do, the job escalated as once you start sourcing hard to find new items, the parts next to them shiny new items then look to want replacing so the build went to an in depth level than was ever anticipated.
The invoices with RCM total over £100,000.00. plus nearly £9,000.00 in parts the customer had sourced himself.
We collected the car from RCM upon completion & a further £2,000.00 has been spent with ourselves prior to sale.
To list the parts/works completed on a listing would not be realistic but the parts list is very impressive.
Body & Paintwork
Having been fully repainted by SGM Racepaint, this examples presents very well as you would of course expect.
All trims are new, be it wiper arms, gutter trims, front & rear screen trims, weather strips, a-pillar trims & so on, all fitted with new clips of course.
The door glass is also new (correct OE items) with new genuine guides to ensure the glass remains scratch free.
New lights are of course fitted, as is a totally new 22B exhaust system.
The car looks superb from all angles.
Interior & Trim
As per the rest of the car, the interior presents very well.
No aftermarket gauges, no screw holes, just as Subaru intended.
The interior has just benefitted from a clean throughout.
New gear knob, new 22B mats, all new centre console, handbrake surround & stereo surround trims, pedal rubbers, gear gaiter, foot rest, Subaru flare, tool kit, jack….
This is scratching the surface but we are sure you get the idea.
The original seats still look great, as do the switches, carpet & trims.
All switchgear operates correctly, a very good example.
As can be seen from the pictures, the engine bay area has not been missed.
As part of the full repaint by SGM, the engine bay area was also painted.
SGM have done a great job of replicating the colour/finish in the engine bay & on the underside of the bonnet/boot etc.
New genuine decals have been fitted, as have a variety of new & refurbished parts including a brand new genuine intercooler, power steering pipes, various hoses, pullies, bolts, brackets & a brand new exhaust to name just a few parts.
A very well presented engine bay throughout.
Of course the car runs as it should do, starting well & driving well on the road.
No hesitations through the rev range, the car was ran on the dyno at RCM as part of the restoration.
Of course the running gear has not been overlooked.
Brand new correct Bilstein suspension is fitted, along with new brake hoses, brake pads, tyres, bushes, top mounts, cross members, ball joints, track rod ends, anti roll bars & drop links, gaiters…
The list goes on & on….
