History
Within the history file of this Clio V6 are all the original booklets, and a file containing original brochures and price list booklet, along with various information on the Clio V6 models.
Also within the file is the spare key of course, along with MOT certificates and service invoices.
We purchased this vehicle from a long term enthusiast owner, who had owned the car since 2006, so a total of nearly 15 years.
The car had been used for shows mainly, and has a runner up Concours prize certificate. The last 8 years had seen the car tucked away with extremely low usage.
Having spent the last 8 years tucked away as part of a collection, we opted to carry out a full service, with the cambelt and water pump change element of the service being carried out by a main dealer for peace of mind for the next owner. Of course this means a Renault stamp in the book, and the invoice is within the file too.
We have also fully detailed the vehicle and it looks beautiful..
Various other invoices are within the history file, for things such as tyres and batteries etc.
Body & Paintwork
Arguably one of the most outrageous Renaults ever to be made, the phase 2 Clio V6 just looks incredible.
Being a phase 2 it is also the most sought after variant.
This example is extra special, being one of just 8 UK Acid Yellow cars, and is still in original paintwork, which looks incredible after a full detail of the paintwork. The side vent pods were optioned ‘colour coded’ from factory.
Of course we do not stop at paintwork, and all wheels have been off with arches cleaned and prepped as you would hope for such a special car.
Only a few very minor marks/touch ups are present, which are only what you would expect from a car of this age, all glass appears to be original, as do the trims.
New Renault diamond badges have been fitted front and rear.
A truly beautiful example, which looks extremely special, and presents very well indeed.
Interior & Trim
As you would expect, the interior presents just as well as the rest of the car and is without any changes.
The original steering wheel and gear knob are still in place, anybody who knows these cars will know that the interior trim does not wear particularly well and usual weak points are the steering wheel, sticky switchgear and handles, and seat wear.
This examples is absolutely beautiful, with none of these common weaknesses.
The carpets are without any damage, the correct mats are still fitted, the dashboard and all trims are also good.
Everything works just as it should do, and the passenger dash trim is signed by the designer of the Clio V6.
Ready to be enjoyed or added to a collection.
Engine
A Renault Clio – with the engine in the back.
Not just any engine either, a 3.0 V6!
Nothing about this car suggests it is a run of the mill Clio, but nothing more so than when you turn the key and hear the V6 fire in to life.
On the road today, the Clio V6 still feels capable and is no slouch, 0-60mph coming in a claimed 5.9 seconds and on to a claimed top speed of 153mph with 255ps (252bhp).
By today’s standard of hot hatches, these figures may not set the world on fire, however, add to this the fact that you are operating a manual gearbox, with the V6 sat behind you and this short wheelbase hot hatch is rear wheel drive, the driving experience is still absolutely fantastic today and arguably much more engaging and rewarding than many of today’s modern offerings – this is a car which is likely never to be replicated again.
Having just had a full main dealer service including belts, you can simply concentrate on enjoying this example.
Running Gear
All running gear is in very good order and this car is an absolute pleasure to drive.
All wheels are unmarked, and Michelin tyres all have lots of tread remaining.
When on the road, the braking performance is superb and straight, all discs and pads are in good order – steering is direct and the gearbox is a pleasure to operate.
A very special example, of a very special car.
