1986 Renault 5 GT Turbo

This little Renault 5 GT Turbo, is now receiving a full nut and bolt ‘Concours’ rebuild.

A full photographic file will be with the car upon completion, and this will clearly show that the car was in very good order to begin with.
We are very fussy here, and after some long discussion, we decided that we would like to go ahead and have one of the best existing Phase 1 Renault 5 GT Turbo’s.

This will be a full rebuild, and we will ensure the car is of a very high quality indeed, we are aiming for a true show winner.

Currently the car is stripped to a shell only.
The underside is being fully stripped back to bare metal also.
We are leaving no stone unturned on this excellent project.

This car came to us, in very good overall condition, but it did have some imperfections as can be seen by some of the pictures.

A little bit of bubbling under the offside rear window, some slight webbing under the paintwork on the drivers door and that’s about it.
We could quite easily of given it a polish, had the wheels refurbished along with a full service and marketed the car as a presentable Renault 5 GT Turbo.

However, we believed the car deserved more than this.

The car is currently stripped to a shell, with all running gear removed.
The interior is also removed, and any areas with corrosion are currently being dealt with properly, by being removed reworked professionally.

The underside of the car is also stripped right back, and will be prepared to the same high standard as the rest of the car.

The interior of this Renault 5 will not be passed by.
The original seats, although in superb order in terms of shape and support, have sadly faded.

A replacement set of seats or a re-trim will take place, and any interior trims that are not up to standard will of course be replaced.

The engine in this Renault 5 GT Turbo runs beautifully, with no smoking, or tapping at all.

Of course a clean of the engine and ancillaries will take place, along with powder coating/plating/painting and renewing of any parts necessary.
A full service will be carried out, using only the best quality products also.

As you would no doubt expect, all the running gear is currently removed from the vehicle and is going to be cleaned and painted, or powder coated before being refitted to the vehicle.
We will not put any parts, not even bolts or nuts, onto this vehicle if they are not cleaned, painted or powder coated.

The underside of this vehicle will certainly be show worthy, and will stand this car out from the crowd.
