History

The history file of this 928 GTS is fantastic.

Not only has the car had 18qty services carried out, it also has a vast amount of invoices for various new parts which were used and fitted during its Porsche Classic Restoration Programme.
Also in the file is a copy of the sale advert when Porsche Glasgow sold the vehicle after the restoration was carried out, on which it states the parts list would equate to over £50,000.00!

All original booklets, an original 928 GTS brochure along with a separate 928 options brochure, and 3x keys are all also included in the file.

Body & Paintwork

As you would fully expect, the bodywork is in great order.

As part of the restoration, the car was fully repainted to a high standard in the original Guards red.

Invoices are present for various new trims, seals, lights, badges, wiper arms and much, much more, meaning that the car presents to a very high standard top to bottom.
With all new seals throughout, all doors and hatches close beautifully just as they would of done when new.
All wheels have also been refurbished with new tyres at point of restoration.

The 928 is a striking car anyway, but when finished in this colour, in this condition and in GTS trim, with the wide arches, it really is something special.

Again all glass is in good order, with very little signs of age/marks.
The electronic boot release works just as it should do.

A beautiful presenting example of a very rare car.

Interior & Trim

The interior of this 928 is arguably a perfect contrast to the Guards red paintwork.

The grey leather is in great condition, as are the carpets, trims and switchgear.
‘Quirky’ would be the best way to describe the 928 interior design, much like the exterior it is a break from the norm of the era.

The seats, particularly the rears, the switches, the layout, the technology…. everything just lets you know it was designed to be different.
Of course the condition is great throughout.

The 928 can be known for failing trims and switches over the years, but this example is very good.

Engine

The 928 GTS, sporting the 5.4L V8 with almost 350bhp and a claimed top speed of over 170mph!

As you can see from the pictures, the engine bay itself present very well.
Recently the engine bay has benefitted from some light refresh work which includes cam covers and inlet manifold all being stripped and powder coated, with all fixings and linkages zinc plated.
All gaskets and seals used were of course genuine Porsche parts and to finish the engine bay, new genuine intake pipes were fitted.

The engine runs very well as you would expect, and with the comprehensive service history over the years it is clear that it has been loved and looked after.

Running Gear

When this 928 was restored, it was not simply new trims and shiny paint.

The underside was also attended to, with a long list of new parts fitted along the course of the build.
New suspension, brakes, bushes, hoses and much more.

Needless to say this example drives very nicely as a 928 should do.
