1988 Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi

A very rare, Peugeot 205 GTi 1.9 GTi, without any modifications and only 25k miles from new!
These have become a real collectors piece now, and examples like this are few and far between.

The car was purchased by the original owner, Mr Sinclair in August 1988  and remained with him until April 2002.

This stunning 205 GTi is finished in Alpine, and presents very well indeed.
The paint has a lovely shine to it, and is largely original.

The bumpers all appear to be free of any damage, and have the original red inserts still in place.
All door and wheel arch moulding’s are again in good condition, and appear to be original.

All lights, and badges are in good order, with the glass all being nicely presented also.

A very nice example indeed, with such low mileage it has to be among the best original 205 GTi’s still remaining, and certainly the best currently on the market.

If you are reading this advert, and are familiar with the 205 GTi’s, then you will also be aware that the interior’s deteriorate quite badly unfortunately.
This example really excels in term of interior condition.

Everything works just as it should do, which is of course to be expected.
What really stands out is the condition, the seats are just absolutely stunning, with only very minor ageing of the drivers bolster, but this is being extremely fussy.
The bolsters are all still very firm, and in great condition, and the rear seats are again, quite superb.

Gearknob is without any of the usual cracking, it is still in great order and looks as new.
Original stereo is still present and working perfectly.

The red carpets are still vibrant red, and still have good pile thickness.
A totally original interior in stunning condition.

Of course, as you would expect, the car runs very well indeed.

Starts with no problems or hesitations at all, no smoking, no tapping, just as smooth as you would hope.
Driving the car is a total pleasure, with good progressive acceleration throughout the rev range.

The engine bay itself presents nicely, with only the air filter housing showing some signs of aging.

A very fun car to drive, and it is very easy to understand why these pocket rockets demand such a strong following.

As per the rest of the car, the running gear is all in good order, and having just had a full service you can rest assured that everything has had a thorough check.

Brakes are direct and pull the car to an even and quick stop – (the perks of such a light car) and all tyres are matching branded tyres.

The clutch operation is smooth, as is the slick feeling gearbox, with very nice gear changes, both and the up shift and down shift.
An absolute pleasure to drive – they don’t make them like anymore!
