History
The FP1 is the result of Swiss motorsport engineering company Sauber & Petronas coming together to compete in WorldSBK.
150 road legal models were built to comply with FIM homologation rules which lead to Malaysia’s first superbike.
It is believed that 50 of these went race teams leaving 100 bikes as road bikes.
The first 75 bikes were built by a company called MSX International in Essex with the remaining 75 being built in Malaysia.
This particular bike is one of the 30 UK built bikes that were found hidden away in Essex in the mid 2000s
This motorcycle isn’t just a mode of transport; it’s a statement. Perfect for collectors, racing fans, or anyone who appreciates the thrill of high-performance motorcycles.
With Carl Fogarty’s signature, it holds sentimental value & potential for appreciation as a collectible.
Body & Paintwork
As you would expect with only 1km from new, the bodywork is in very good condition throughout.
All panels appear to be original with no signs of any paint repairs having been carried out.
The FP1 looks stunning and is presented in what we think is the only colour for the bike, Panache ‘Petronas’ Green.
The front fairing has been signed by Carl Fogarty himself with photo documentation for the new owner.
Interior & Trim
All trims/switchgears are in excellent condition.
Engine
The FP1 features a Sauber developed 899.5cc three cylinder engine making 127bhp, a great power figure for the time.
The engine is reverse mounted in the frame to ensure the exhaust had the most direct exit to the rear of the bike, helping to make the bike as light as possible.
The bike will be supplied fully decommissioned (all fuel drained & battery removed) ready to be displayed as part of a collection.
A true race bike for the road
Running Gear
As can be seen in the pictures, all running gear is in great condition.
