We are delighted to bring this extremely special Mitsubishi Evo to market.
The Evo 9 FQ range is widely regarded as the best Evo to have been sold within the UK, excellent performance & useability combined with great looks & rarity all rolled into one.

This example is a real standout, being a genuine one owner example with less than 10,000 miles & all paperwork dating back to the original purchase invoice & brochures.
Only 8qty FQ340’s were ever made in red.

Opportunities to buy a top tier example such as this, in a superb colour, with fantastic history, do not come along very often at all.

Having been with the same owner from new, it is clear that this car has been loved deerly.

The original owner had planned on ordering the car in a different colour, however, on the way to the delaership he spotted a red Evo 7 & changed his mind there & then to order the FQ340 in Red. Only 8qty FQ340’s were ever produced in red, making it one of the rarest colours, as well as being one of the best in terms of aesthectics.

The buyer waited six months for the car to arrive, by then the FQ360 was available & the buyer was slightly dissapointed that he no longer had the flagship model.
So the owner set out making some sensible upgrades to put the car more in line with the FQ360. These are detailed below.

Throughout its life the car has had very little usage, the owner spent a large amount of time abroad & would only use the car in good weather.
Around 2015 saw the closure of his local Mitsubishi dealer, this combined with poor health at the time saw the car pretty much retired from usage.

As you would fully expect, the car presnts fantastically, having also benefitted from a single stage machine polish.

All badges are original & without any damage – the badges on these cars are prone to breaking when the get ‘snagged’ by cleaning cloth’s, but no such issues here.
Lights & glass are also all original, door frames retain the lovely ‘satin black’ finish without the usual fading issues.

The addition of the Ralliart carbon fibre front splitter & vortex generator help give a more modern look, along with the OZ Racing Superleggera wheels.
It is very hard to belive this car is now 20 years old!

As can also be seen, all calipers are without any fading issues, still vibrant red behind the silver wheels & worth noting also that all brake discs are ni great condition.
A few small touch ins are present, as you would expect & this helps display the very honest patina of such an original example. These are minor but we are fussy & we like to mention these things. One small mark on a rear wheel edge is noted if looking closely.

A beautiful example which has stood the test of time thanks to the cherished life & the Appreciating Classics prep combined.

As per the exterior, the interior of this example is simply superb.

The gorgeous RAlliart branded front seats look extremely fresh still to this day, whilst the rears look like they have never even been used.
All carpets & original floor mats are in great order.

Steering wheel, gear knob, handbrake & all switchgear presents extremely well.
An Alpine double din headunit has been fitted, along with upgraded speakers, the original headunit is still with the vehicle.

All gauges work just as they should do.
A timewarp interior one might say.

The 4G63 requires no introduction & it can be strongly argued that the last iteration found in the Evo 9 was the best version of all, with the Mivec & beefed up internals these engines are considered amongst the very better four cylinder engines to ever grace a production car.

This example being the FQ340 already comes in a great specification, however, when the original owner purchased the car, by the time he had waited 6 months for the car to arrive, the FQ360 was available so he decided to add some of the FQ360 specification to this car as well as some desirable aesthetic changes.

The result is a car which feels excellent on the road, with fantastic & effortless performance which would put it right on par with even todays ‘fast’ hot hatches.
As can be seen in the pictures, the engine bay itself presents very well indeed & we have carried out a full major service so the car is ready to be enjoyed.

Unrestored and great condition, this example retains the original protection wax underneath as found on the UK specification Mitsubish Evo’s.

Having been garaged & kept away from wet roads from new, this example is as good as you would hope in terms of underside condition & running gear condition.
On the road, the car drives great with lovely braking power, fantastic clutch & gearbox operation & of course no hesitations through the rev range.
