1984 MK1 MG Metro Turbo

SOLD

Brief

Here is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Every single piece of paperwork from new, original paint, 7000 miles from new, (with paperwork to verify).

A simply, incredible, unrepeatable car!
The ultimate MG collectors piece.

A special Factory order, colour coded MK1 MG Metro Turbo.
All colour coding was done by the factory, by special request of the original (and only) owner, Mr H W Lamont.

Not only did the factory agree to colour code the lower half of the car (which subsequently led to the MK2 version being colour coded as standard), they also colour coded the grill, mirrors and the windscreen wiper arms and blades. Much to the amazement of Lex Mead and Mr H W Lamont!

Lex Mead had the car on display for a number of weeks in the showroom as they were so impressed with the vehicle.

The car won two Concours shows, one in 2000 and one in 2001, and was then taken off the road, and stored in perfect conditions once again.
Both trophies, score sheets and all relevant paperwork is present of course.

Car was also shown at a local car show just a few weeks ago, and although the car show had no prizes for any cars, this Metro was without doubt the ‘show stopper’!

Body & Paintwork

It is difficult to explain the condition of this car, Stunning does not quite cut it.

All the paintwork on this car is original, other than a truly tiny touch up on the passenger side rear quarter which is, to be honest, being extremely fussy.
The bonnet, front valance, and front bumper are ‘chip’ free, even inside the arch extensions are unmarked!

All colour coded areas are as it left the factory, without damage or any deterioration.
The car has no dents, scratches, or areas of rust, not even the slightest bubble anywhere on the car.

Inside the door shuts, boot shut, engine bay are all perfect, with no wear at all, or any signs of ageing.
Every detail of this car is simply mind blowing, and is a true testament to the one owner from new.

Interior & Trim

Prepare to take a step back in time, as you (carefully) step into this car!

The interior of this car is outstanding, literally as new!
Not a single mark anywhere in the car, all switches and knobs work just as they should, with no signs of any wear to them.

All the glass is scratch free, the carpet is still bright red, with no worn areas, in fact the carpet is still ‘plump’ as it was when new!
The red seatbelts, and red piping on the seats are all bright red, and look brand new!

The seats have had the centres stripped, to be re-laminated for extra piece of mind (still all original material, purely re-laminated).
Door cards and parcel shelf are original and perfect, as is the headlining.

The steering wheel is as new, and the very 80’s style built in LED boost gauge works just as it should.

Engine

The engine is of course as good as the rest of the car, barely even being ‘ran in’ with such low mileage!

The engine has never been out of the car, it has simply been incredibly well looked after as the pictures demonstrate.
The car has recently had a new fuel pump, and fuel pump relay, along with new (genuine) spark plugs.

The oil has been replaced regularly as you would expect, even though the car has not been used.
The turbo boosts as it should do, and the gearbox is without fault and still feels perfectly tight when being driven.

The pictures really do the speaking, it simply drives as per a new MG Metro Turbo should.

Running Gear

All brakes and suspension are perfect, operate just as they should without fault.

The original wheels (still with original tyres) were removed from the car very early in its life, and preserved to ensure they were kept in the best condition as possible.
These wheels are literally ‘as new’ with the original tyres which still have the ‘nobbles’ on them!

The wheels which are fitted to the car are also in extremely good condition, and all caps are as new with no damaged securing tabs.
