This is a very special car, which is ready to be enjoyed by its new owner.

These cars are extremely difficult to find, especially in the UK, and especially in this condition, with original booklets & Japanese history!

History

The Mazda RX7 Spirit R is a limited production series of the RX7, being the final limited production run, Mazda were keen to create the ultimate driving experience with the Spirit R, and they sure did succeed!

Only 1500 Spirit R’s were produced, of which three variants were available.

Type A – Two seater 5 Speed Manual.
Type B – Four seater 5 Speed Manual.
Type C – Four seater 4 Speed Automatic.

Of the three variants, the Type A is the most sought after, and most hardcore of the limited production run Mazda RX7, which is what we have here.

Produced for the Japanese Domestic Market only, these cars are very scarce in the UK, and offer a fantastic investment with Japanese performance cars of ‘The Gran Turismo Era’ showing large growth over the last 12 months and becoming increasingly sought after.

Refreshingly, this example has good Japanese paperwork, which in itself is a rarity with Japanese Imports.

All original booklets are present within the history file, and are still retained within the original Mazda wallet.
The service book is present & showing past servicing in Japan.
Also within the history file is an original RX7 Spirit R brochure, and unused original spare keys.

In April 2016 the engine had a rebuild by Super 7 Auto’s, and anybody who knows the Rotary engines will know that this is crucial, and is very often over looked.

Body & Paintwork

Finished in the Spirit R exclusive colour of Titanium Gray Metallic (code 25G), with the Type A exclusive Gun Metallic finish on the BBS wheels, this car looks stunning.
The colour combination works very well, and most certainly lets people know that this is no ordinary Mazda RX7.

The paintwork itself is in good order, with no signs of corrosion on the bodywork.
All badges and lights are in good condition as you would expect, and the same can be said for the glass which all looks to be original.

The bodywork has no modifications, and is exactly how Mazda intended it to be.
All wheels are without any damage, and look brilliant in the original Gun Metallic finish, with the Spirit R specific red brake calipers looking fantastic behind them.

Interior & Trim

If the exterior of the car does not shout out ‘special’ to you quite enough, then the interior certainly will.
Being the Type A variant of the Spirit R, it is a two seater, with stunning red Recaro Carbon Kevlar seats, which look utterly fantastic, and are still in great condition.

Once inside, you will start to notice further improvements specific to the Spirit R, such as the ‘soft coated’ interior trims, red stitched Nardi steering wheel and gearknob, all of which are again, in great condition.

The only none original addition’s to this car are the three gauges which have been mounted within a Mazdaspeed gauge pod and a double din stereo/headunit.

Engine

Driving the Spirit R is certainly a fantastic experience, and this is largely thanks to the 1.3 litre twin turbo rotary engine, which gives superb performance, with a claimed 276bhp.

The noise is simply brilliant, and being a very revvy little engine it really is a pure drivers car.

With the rotary engines it is common knowledge that regular maintenance is key, and an engine rebuild sometime within its life will generally be required.
Happily this example had a full engine rebuild in 2016 by Supr 7 Auto’s, so you can rest assured that the car is not ‘on its last legs’, in fact it is nice and fresh, and ready to be enjoyed.

The engine bay itself presents very nicely, and still has the model specific red strut brace in place.

Running Gear

The Bilstein suspension which was fitted to the Spirit R model is still in place, and performs very well.
All wheels are without any damage, and are sporting premium brand high performance tyres (Yokohama Neova AD08R).
Clutch and gearbox operate very well, nice and precise with a nice clutch pedal feel.
The underside of the car has very recently had components removed, and the shell cleaned back, and resealed for longevity (we have pictures of this to show the car is in great order).
