History
Originally ordered, by the only owner, from Alvan Motors Belgium, on the 13th of October 2000 as a RHD UK car, and used in Belgium until 2001.
(Original dealer carried out the first service in early 2001).
The car travelled back to the UK along with the owner, and has been fastidiously maintained by Lotus specialists since then, with fantastic service history within the history file.
We purchased the vehicle from the original owner, due to the owner having emigrated.
Upon purchase, we have carried out a service, plus replacement of a rear wheel bearing, new Yokohama AD08R tyres, and a check of the geometry.
Original booklets are retained within the original Lotus Elise binder, and spare keys are also present, along with the original order form, certificate of conformity, lots of MOT certificates, and various other small invoices.

Body & Paintwork
Finished in the desirable Mustard Yellow, this Lotus Elise looks fantastic.
Anybody who knows these cars, will know that Lotus factory paintwork was never to ‘show car’ standards.
This example does show a little of the usual imperfections you would see on an original paint Lotus Elise of the era.
It does have various small touch ups from usual usage chips with the original paint on these never being particularly thick and chipping easily.
However overall, the car does present well and still looks a great example.
We have replaced the paint protection vinyl on the rear quarter panels, and we have also replaced the lower driving lamps (one had a small crack). The driving lamps were optioned on this vehicle at point of order.
Importantly, the roof is also in very good order.
Interior & Trim
A nicely specified example, with such extras as:
Leather, Radio fitting kit (Sony CD Radio fitted), floor mats, passenger alloy kick plate, Sill pads and luggage net.
All dials and lights work exactly as you would expect, the seats are in very good condition, as are the sill pads. Original mats are still in place, along with the passenger footwell kick plate.
Engine
With such excellent service history, it is clear to see that this example has been loved by the owner since day one. Upon purchase we carried out a service, and the cambelt was replaced in 2018 so is still in date.
The car starts first turn of the key every time, and drives very well.
No hesitations through the rev range, and being such a lightweight vehicle, it still performs fantastically.
The engine compartment itself presents well, with the sound deadening on the bulkhead still being correct and present (a common part to show signs of age).
Running Gear
As well as servicing the car ourselves upon purchase, we also changed a slightly noisy wheel bearing, replaced the tyres with more modern tyres (Yokohama AD08R), and had the geometry done to be sure it drives as it should do.
Brakes operate well, as you would expect in such a lightweight vehicle.
The gearchange is superb, the clutch feels good, and the handling is fantastic.
