The Honda VTR1000 SP-1 was built with competition in mind. Developed from Honda’s World Superbike programme, it was created as a homologation special & consequently has a level of engineering, character & provenance that sets it apart from the majority of motorcycles of its era.

Originally sold by George White Motors in Swindon on 1st March 2000, this SP-1 has covered just 9,024 miles from new & is all original
The low mileage is immediately apparent in the overall presentation of the bike, which retains the feel of a very well-cared for example.

This example has come from a collection of excellent low mileage bikes, where it has been for several years.

The bike was self-maintained whilst on display within a collection of low mileage & excellent bikes & runs/rides beautifully.
A service & MOT will of course be carried out at point of sale.

This SP-1 looks as good today as it did when purchased in 2000. The Winning Red paintwork really stands out in our showroom & presents as you would expect.

All panels are in great condition & appear to be in original paintwork, only minor age related imperfections can be seen.

The original screen is still fitted, along with original mirrors & indicators, the number plate holder is original with no modifications (‘cutting down’ of the number plate holders was very common).

Overall a very nicely presenting, very low mileage example.

All trim is in very good condition.

Obviously things such as the handlebar grips are showing very minimal wear with only 9k miles.

The top yoke is in great condition (often marked by keys in the ignition flapping around on to the top yoke), bar ends are undamaged, & the bike shows zero signs of ever being dropped.

The jewel in the SP-1 is, of course, Honda’s 999cc V-twin.

Compact, muscular & wonderfully characterful, the engine delivers the sort of immediate throttle response & deep V-twin soundtrack that makes the SP-1 such a rewarding motorcycle to ride.

The engine runs beautifully, even from cold on choke.

All gears engage nicely & the clutch operates perfectly well.

The bike rides smoothly through the rev range & gives impressive performance.

If the bike is to put into a collection & not be used, then of course we can fully decommission the bike (all fuel drained & battery removed) ready to be displayed.

As with the rest of the bike, the running gear is all original & in great order.

Suspension & brakes feel fantastic, with superb braking performance and handling.
