History
Previously owned by the ex Ford Engineer & racing driver, Allan Wilkinson, and used for the Ford advert, recreating the 1974 advert of himself with an Escort Mexico.
The car has recently had thousands spent, after the owner got carried away with giving the car a ‘freshen up’.
This includes, a full 3M re-wrap, gloss black trims re-painted, an underside refresh with many new parts, wheel bearings, discs, pads, shock absorbers, wishbones, disc guards, (all genuine parts with receipts). Plus on top of this, the usual full service items, including pollen filter, spark plugs, gearbox oil, oil & filter, battery etc etc – again, all genuine parts.
Once arriving with ourselves the car then went on to have a genuine cambelt kit & water pump fitted, 4 wheel alignment and a general check over.
As can be seen below, the car came off the road in 2017. The car will be MOT’d over the coming days.

Body & Paintwork
Anybody who knows the Focus RS 500 will immediately think of the somewhat iconic ‘Matt Black’ 3M wrap finish.
Quite commonly removed and either replaced with a different Matt vinyl which is more hard wearing, or removed in favour of revealing the Panther Black paintwork underneath.
It is also common knowledge that some of the cars had defects when new, as is the nature with a wrap. Some cars were better than others.
This example has recently had a new 3M vinyl wrap so it presents freshly.
Of course the wheels are unmarked with them having been refurbished, as have the RS500 specific red brake calipers.
Various other aesthetic improvements have recently been made, including gloss black items having been freshly painted, brand new headlamps have also been fitted at great expense. The only area which shows any signs of the fact this is not an extremely low mileage example is some light chips to the windscreen.
A great looking car and a nicely presenting example with low, yet useable mileage.
Interior & Trim
Ford really got it right with the RS500 interior, the black with red stitching looks fantastic, being specific to the RS500.
As you would expect, the interior is of this particular car is very good, with the seats, floor mats, steering wheel, and trims presenting well, with no nasty bolster wear on the seats, which can often be the case.
Everything works just as it should do, and this car is a Lux2 specification.
Engine
What an engine!
The car bursts in to life, and runs beautifully.
No smoking or unwanted noises.
A full service has been completed which consisted of, oil & oil filter, transmission oil, spark plugs, pollen filter, cambelt & water pump (all genuine parts).
The engine bay itself presents well, and is without any modifications.
Released with 345bhp, the Focus RS500 is still very much a force to be reckoned with, and is highly regarded as a modern classic Ford RS with prices climbing very well over the last few years.
Running Gear
The running gear is in great order, most of which is new.
Ford receipts show a spend of near £6000.00 on parts alone & a total spend of over £8,000.00.
New genuine wheel bearings, shocks, wishbones, discs, pads, heat shields, headlights, various trims & clips, and much more.
