History

This 1995 Escort Cosworth was registered new to its first owner on the 1st August 1995 by Radmore’s of Tavistock.

The blue A5 Ford folder with Radmores of Tavistock sticker contain all original booklets, all of which are in excellent order.

This car has had enthusiast ownership throughout its life.

As you would expect all four original keys are present including the red master key & working torch key. The plastic tag with the key number remains along with two Clifford remote units.
Original V5 & current V5 are within the file, along with various service check sheets/invoices & various tax discs / sorn declarations.
Also in the file are 4 Concours logbooks, 01, 02, 03 and 04 – all for the ‘Standard’ Class, over these years it entered just five events, coming away with 1x 1st place & 4x 2nd places.
The very low mileage can be warranted through the paperwork history & the service stamps, of which the details are listed below.

Body & Paintwork

Finished in Diamond white, this example looks superb.

Of course, all panels are original Ford stamped panels, as you would expect.
Originally an aero delete example, the previous owner fitted a genuine whale tail and lower splitter as per the usual Escort RS Cosworth look.
All exterior trim is in excellent order including the lights, badges & rubbers.

Original glass is still in place & all correct Ford window stickers remain intact including the Ford Security System & Dealer supplier rear window sticker.

Interior & Trim

Being a LUX optioned vehicle, the Recaro seats are finished in leather from factory & are in superb condition, still having the original ‘satin’ finish to the leather.
The rears look as though they have never been sat in!

Nothing has been changed within the cabin, the original steering wheel, gear knob, pedal rubbers are all still in place, and again in great condition as you would expect from such a low mileage example.
The standard Ford radio/cassette, Model 2007 RDS sound system remains as Ford intended & provides excellent sound through the original eight speakers.
Everything works just as it should do, including all gauges & switchgear.
The boot area looks as if it has never been used.

A period ‘Mult-T-Lock’ with two keys was Dealer fitted in July 1995 & a Clifford Concept 600 Thatcham Category 1 alarm in June 2000, both with supporting insurance approved certificates.

Engine

No introduction needed here…. the motorsport pedigree of the escort Cosworth is well known world wide!
With an impressive output of 217HP and 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, these cars still feel great even today.
This example is no exception, with fantastic performance on hand.
Turn the key, and the car starts without any hesitations at all.

No smoking either when on idle, on boost or indeed on overrun, and no tapping either when cold or warm.

Running Gear

As with the rest of the vehicle, all running gear is in great order.

The car recently had an underside refresh & presents very nicely as can be seen by the pictures.
The original Ford RS 8 X 16” five-spoke alloy wheels are still fitted, & still have the original 225/45 ZR16 Pirelli P Zero Asimmetrico tyres – these are for display purposes only & whilst they are not damaged, we would recommend new tyres for use on the road due to the age.
The clutch and gearbox are a pleasure to use, & the brakes still perform well even by today’s standards.

On the road the suspension feels capable yet comfortable, & helps give good handling characteristics, with no unwanted noises.
A truly superb example ready to be either enjoyed or displayed.
