History

Ordered by Mr Lancaster in May 1998, with an expected delivery date of August/September 1998….. Mr Lancaster decided to go to Germany and collect the car himself in December 1998!
The original cost of the car, including the optional extras, was almost £50,000.00!

The car was first registered on the 1st of December 1998 and Mr Lancaster only travelled 11,600miles in the first 3 years of ownership.
The second owner, Mrs Watkins owned the car for over 9 years and only averaged around 4,000 miles a year in this time, it is also clear to see that Mrs Watkins was fastidious with servicing the M3.

Now 17 years old, and still looking like the day it was collected by Mr Lancaster, it is available for a fraction of the new price.

MOT history:
12/01 – 11,671 miles
12/02 – 17,099 miles
12/03 – 21,570 miles
01/04 – 21,611 miles
01/05 – 24,958 miles
12/06 – 28,856 miles
12/07 – 34,841 miles
12/08 – 41,026 miles
2009 – Sorn
12/10 – 48,379 miles
12/11 – 51,460 miles
08/12 – 52,503 miles
08/13 – 56,632 miles
05/14 – 58,208 miles

Body & Paintwork

Finished in stunning Cosmos Metallic black, the paintwork is in excellent order, giving a great deep shine.

All paintwork looks to be original, with no signs of any paintwork having been carried out on the car at all.
A few very small stonechips as you would expect, and a small chip to one of the headlamps do not detract from the fantastic condition of this car.

The matching black hood, is also in immaculate condition.
All badges, rubbers and lights all in great order.

The polished motorsport wheels specific to the Evo Convertible, fantastic black paintwork, unmarked interior and the private ‘M3’ registration plate really help this unmodified M3 Evolution, stand out from the crowd!

Viewing is highly recommended to appreciate the condition of this rare and beautiful car.

Interior & Trim

The interior of this example is superb in every sense.

The Nappa leather is in superb condition throughout, as can be seen from the pictures.
The drivers seat has very very minor wear, which is barely noticeable at all, no cracks or tears in any of the seats at all.

Carpets are still fresh looking, again with no damage, and the ‘M’ sport steering wheel is in superb order.

Brand new genuine BMW fitted mats are in place (not pictured), and finish the interior off perfectly.

All the optional Burr Walnut trim is as new, with zero marks or damage.

All plastic trims are in exceptional condition, all gauges work exactly as they should do, with only a minor defect on the gear indicator LCD.

Engine

As you would expect, considering the thorough service history, the engine runs perfectly…..

Starts with the first turn of the key, as is a quiet running engine even from cold.
No signs of any Vanos issues, and the car pulls as it should through the rev range.

Still a respectfully capable cars by todays standards, with 321bhp and a limited top speed of 155mph, this car can put a smile on your face with a push of a pedal.
Makes a fantastic noise, and drives very well indeed.

The optional SMG gearbox does not display any signs of any faults, and engages all modes as it should.
Manual mode also works, so a car for every mood.

Running Gear

Polished ‘M’ Evolution wheels are all in great order, a few very minor marks which are barely noticeable at all.
All wheels have matching Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres fitted, all of which are almost in new condition.

Suspension makes no unwanted noises, and as can be seen within the history file, this car has been serviced very regularly.
The brakes are very effective, and pull the car to an even and refined stop.

A truly fantastic example all round, one that would be hard to better without doubt.
