Designed & produced to be a hugely capable hot hatch/track car it is an extremely difficult car to find in ‘collectors condition’ – let alone in delivery mileage condition.
As these are such a fantastic drivers car, many/most examples have had a hard life & have been used as fantastic track cars, meaning examples like are near impossible to find.

History

The Mini ‘John Cooper Works GP’ – often referred to as the GP2, the 2012 John Cooper Works GP was a limited-edition, track-oriented version of the regular John Cooper Works hatchback & was based as a road going version of the JCW Challenge race car.

Production was limited to 2000 units worldwide, with only 288 built for the UK market.

On top of the John Cooper Works packagae, the GP2 was graced with adjustable coilover suspension,, specially developed Kumho ‘semi slick’ tyres, Brembo 6 piston front brake calipers, full valance tray & a functional rear diffuser, a hatch-mounted spoiler with carbon fibre element, specific paint & decals, red mirror caps, brake ducts, signature badging, a pair of special-edition Recaro sport seats & the deletion of the rear seats to save weight, with a rear strut brace bar in place…. plus much more.

An instant future classic & at the time the fastest factory Mini to have been produced.

Today finding an exceptional example is very hard, so we are very proud to offer what is likely the very best!

Body & Paintwork

As can be seen in the pictures the car is totally original & this includes 100% of the paintwork.

Not only is the paintwork original on the bodywork, but all areas of the whole car are original – including the wheels which have never been refurbished & also the brake calipers which are in great original condition.

Of course the bodywork is without any damage, no dents, chips or scratches at all.
All original decals are still in place & look as new, the GP spoiler & rear diffuser are also in unmarked condition & they really do give the GP road presence as well as being reported to reduce lift by 90%.

All glass & badges are original, & again, without any damage.
A beautiful example exactly as you would expect with just 17 miles from new.

Interior & Trim

Of course, as with the rest of the car, the interior is in superb order.

Zero modifications have been carried out, with all original dials & switches working perfectly.
The beautiful Recaro seats are in great condition with no signs of wear.

Correct original floormats are still in place, & again without signs of wear – much like the pedals, steering wheel & gear knob as you would expect with the very low mileage.

The sill plates which have ‘GP 1 of 2000’ badging are unmarked, none of the usual scratches from people catching them whilst entering or exiting the cockpit.

Of course being the GP model it has no rear seats, instead a large red rear strut brace takes place & that is of course unmarked.

Engine

What a cracking little engine – anybody looking for one of these cars will know what an extremely capable machine they are.

218bhp may not sound like a large amount of power, but in such a package the Mini GP2 really is superb to drive.
A claimed 0-60mph of 6.1 seconds & a top speed of 150mph, coupled with chassis, handling and braking upgrades the GP2 was & still is a seriously capable hot hatch.
These engine are tuneable & as such many examples have been modified, meaning original examples are becoming rarer.

The engine bay itself is again – in as new condition with no changes at all.

Running Gear

As already mentioned, the underside of this car is in fantastic condition, with no corrosion & all running gear looking as new thanks to having been stored correctly away from any damp.

The correct original suspension is still in place & without the common ‘knocking’ issue.

All brakes are as new & the large six piston front brake calipers look absolutely fantastic behind the original wheels.
Speaking of original wheels, the car still wears the specific Kumho Ecsta tyres which the GP left the factory with.

A truly fantastic example & unrepeatable example.
