Body & Paintwork
The Nurburgring Astra VXR is certainly a very eye catching car, with the white paintwork, matching white 18″ alloy wheels, blue brake calipers, smatterings of Carbon effect detailing and chequered flag decals.
This example is as striking as ever, looking absolutely superb.
The wheels are in unmarked condition, as are the lights and foglights which are usually victim to stone chips/gravel rashing – this VXR is in great order.
The brake calipers are still original in finish, being the blue and even the disc centres present well without the usual corrosion.
All decals are in great condition without the usual fading, and of course the car is without any car parks dings or marks.
A truly lovely example, of a fantastic hot hatch.
Interior & Trim
As you would fully expect, the interior is in great condition throughout.
The Nurburgring specific seats are without any of the usual worn bolsters, they present very nicely indeed and support you very well when driving.
All of the Nurburgring detailing is original, correct and in great condition, such as the sill plates and numbered badge on the centre console – this being number 117 of 835.
Everything works exactly as it should do, including the air con which is ice cold, having just had a new aircon condensor radiator.
All piano black trim is in great condition, as are the carpets and original VXR floormats.
In the standard Astra VXR, the Z20LEH engine claimed an output of 240bhp which gave great performance in such a light hot hatch, which also has great gear ratios meaning the car could often compete with higher power vehicles.
The Nurburgring Edition came with the Remus sports exhaust fitted as standard, which not only sounds fantastic, but is rumoured to add around 15bhp.
With the cherished ownership this car has had, and regular servicing, it runs perfectly as of course you would expect.
A fantastic car to drive, with surprising performance, and a great soundtrack.
A full cambelt service was carried out less than 1000 miles ago, so this is not due and the car wants for nothing.
As with the rest of the car, all running gear is in great order and the car wants for nothing.
