History
Originally supplied by Kensworth Garage Limited – VW Dealership to Mrs A. Smith on the 28th June 1991.
Mrs Smith only kept the car until August 1992, and then the original dealership sold the car to Mr J. Gould on the 14th August 1992, and gave the car is first service prior to Mr Gould taking possession of the car.
(12/08/92 – 4,792 miles)
It was Mr Gould who kept the vehicle for the majority of its life (22 years), and whilst in his beloved ownership, the car was regularly serviced with a total of 14 service stamps showing.
He also kept track of what mileage he put on the car, and how much fuel was used with a diary record within the history file.
This car was quite clearly his absolute pride and joy.
In September 2014, Mr Gould sold the car to a Mr J. Alexander, another enthusiast who cared for the car, and also had the Supercharger service carried out.
A comprehensive history file compliments this car perfectly, and without question warrants the low mileage, and fastidious care.
Body & Paintwork
A stunning colour for the Corrado, very striking and sporting.
This example is a very well presented example indeed, and certainly a very rare find in original/unrestored condition.
The paintwork still looks sharp, with a nice deep red finish.
All trims are in good condition, and appear to be original, other than the roof trims which we have changed due to the very common problem of the deteriorating over time.
The front bumper has a couple of small touch ups, but these are not noticeable unless pointed out, and certainly do not detract from the car.
The electric spoiler still works exactly as it should do, which again can be a common failure.
The only changes that have been made in terms of bodywork/appearance are that the VW emblems have been changed to black items.
All the glass is in good order, as are the badges and lights.
Interior & Trim
The interior of this Corrado G60 is in very good condition.
Nothing has been changed or modified in here, and it looks fantastic.
The seats are without any damage, or bolster wear.
The very distinctive rear seats are in great order also, with no signs of wear.
Both the steering wheel and gearknob are original items and in good condition, demonstrating the low mileage from new.
All switches work as they should do, with windows and sunroof operating correctly.
Also the rear spoiler switch works, and the spoiler operates as it should do.
A cult 90’s interior, which lives up to the cult 90’s exterior.
Engine
With full service history present, and a documented fuel usage diary, it is very clear that this car has been loved.
As such, as you would expect, the car runs beautifully.
The car starts first turn of the key without fail, and is a lovely quiet running engine, even from cold.
In 2015 the Supercharger was serviced by well known specialists Jabba Sport, and at the same time a 68mm pulley was fitted, along with a suitable ECU chip and a Supersprint exhaust system.
This gives a very nice amount of power without pushing the engine beyond its capabilities.
Once on the road, the performance is very good, with great linear power delivery, and no hesitations throughout the rev range.
Anybody who has driven a G60 will know what we mean, when we say that the noise is fantastic, with the Supercharger noise making it very distinctive.
The engine bay itself is very well presented, and would be right at home at a car show.
Running Gear
The running gear is as per the rest of the car….
All tyres are matching and premium brand, being recently fitted they are in great order.
The original wheels have the odd small mark on the very edge of the rim, but overall are in good condition.
In terms of changes, the only change which has been made to the running gear is that a set of mild lowering springs have been fitted, and the original items are still with the car.
Gearbox and clutch operate very nicely, as do the brakes.
A great car to drive, which still feels very nice and tight.
