This is a rare car indeed, and one of our favourite purchases.
This car has been meticulously kept by its only owner, and the car is a true credit to him.

Only a few subtle upgrades, and anybody looking at this vehicle who is familiar with them, will appreciate the upgrades are sensible, and they help make this a very special car indeed.

Extremely hard to find in this condition, and one of less than 70 UK supplied vehicles.

History

The history for this vehicle is simply sublime.

The original purchase invoice is present and shows that the car was purchased by Mr M Martins 2/4/1990 and he traded in his Ford Escort RS Turbo.
Original brochure has also been kept, along with the Rallye Golf VHS, and of course the original and unmarked VW binder containing all the booklets which are as new along with the correct G60 spare key.

22 MOT certificates, and various Sorn declarations also substantiate the mileage perfectly.
The only owner of the vehicle was extremely meticulous and logged every single time he touched the car, a full service sheet is filled in with the mileage, date and details of works completed.

In total the file contains 74 separate service sheets all detailed correctly, and this even details when tyre pressures were checked and the results!
Invoices present within the history file tie up with service parts and upgrade parts purchased, and the service sheets detailing maintenance and upgrades carried out.

Even when the car was not being used, or when it had covered only very little mileage, the oil was still changed every 6 months regardless, and the brake fluid was flushed every 12 months regardless.
This is one seriously pampered car.

Body & Paintwork

Stunning original paintwork!

The Tornado red looks superb, and shines brilliantly.
We have had a 2 stage enhancement detail carried out, and the car looks fantastic!

All decals are original, which is very rare for these vehicles, all badges are in great condition and all glass appears to be original.
The headlights are in very good condition, as are the fog lights (these are prone to deterioration and are extremely hard to find parts).

Rubber stone deflectors are still in place, and are in fantastic condition also.

No corrosion anywhere, a truly stunning original example.

Interior & Trim

The interior of this car is in lovely condition.

Original seats are all in fantastic order, with barely any signs of any wear at all.
The rear seats have genuinely never carried passengers!

Only three people have ever driven the car on the road, and only four people have ever been in the passenger seat on the road!

The only non original items are two aftermarket (but very period) gauges, one being a boost gauge and one being a voltage gauge.

Not many Rallye’s left with interiors like this…..

Engine

What a fantastic little engine this is, with a great noise to go with it.

A few upgrades have been carried out, which help give this example the performance to suit its aggressive looks.
A full Supersprint exhaust has been fitted, along with Bosch 315cc injectors, 65mm pulley, Piper 285 Camshaft, K&N air filter, Jabba Sport ECU chip, and a Jabba Sport stage 4 Supercharger upgrade has been carried out.

The car runs beautifully, starts instantly, idles perfectly, and it accelerates nicely without any hesitations throughout the rev range.
The Supersprint exhaust system gives a lovely, yet subtle noise, and the supercharger gives a subtle whine, a fantastic sounding car.

Gear changes are smooth, and without any crunching either when changing up or down the gearbox.

The engine bay itself presents very well, with the inner wings, and chassis rails being in perfect condition, as is the bulkhead which still wears its original factory wax.

Running Gear

Of course the running gear is all in superb order.

A few subtle and highly regarded upgrades have been carried out to the handling and braking aspects of the car, such as the original suspension being replaced with AP Coilover’s, which help the car sit much nicer, and also improve the handling (the original suspension is with the vehicle).
The original BBS wheels have had very slightly wider outer rims fitted, from 0.5″ to 1.0″ – these were imported from Germany.

Brake discs and pads have been upgraded, and wheel spacers have been fitted to fill the factory wide arches properly.
This Rallye sits very well, it has a lovely stance, and of course the road holding has been improved greatly thanks to these upgrades.
