A very nicely presented Renault Megane R26R, regarded by many as one of the best Hot Hatches ever produced.

123kg’s lighter than the already lightweight and capable Megane R26, and with the addition of carbon fibre bucket seats, 5 point harnesses, rollcage, carbon fibre bonnet, polycarbonate rear quarter and rear windows, a limited slip differential, fully switchable traction control plus more, this is one hell of a fun and capable hot hatch, and one which we will most likely never see the likes of again from a mainstream car manufacturer – a modern classic for sure!

A very well cared for vehicle, window regulators recently replaced at great expense, and invoices are present for services and works carried out at RS Tuning.
Of course all of the original booklets are present, along with the full and complete presentation pack including a DVD video of the record breaking Nurburgring lap, a complimentary pass for one lap of the Nurburgring and the full hardback book which details the Megane R26R from design to full production car.
Body & Paintwork
This is a very well presented R26R with no dents, or nasty marks on the body.
The paintwork gives a lovely shine, the carbon fibre bonnet has just been professionally re-lacquered (genuine new decals also fitted to bonnet) at great expense and looks absolutely beautiful!
The wheels have also just been powder coated in the correct red, this was not due to any damage to the wheels but to give them a fresh red shine and they look super!
A fantastic looking hot hatch, which will have many admiring comments and questions.
Interior & Trim
The interior of the R26R really is very special.
As soon as you get in, you know its something rather special.
The only non original item in here is the addition of the stereo, which is also a fully working satellite navigation unit.
The Rollcage is unmarked and still an extremely vibrant red, it looks great and is certainly a talking point to all admirers.
Carbon fibre bucket seats…how often do you see that as a factory fit seat in a ”Hot Hatch”?!
The seats are still in extremely good order, and it is clear that the previous owners have taken great care when getting in and out of the car – the seatbelts are superb and once strapped in and adjusted you just know its going to be a fantastic driving experience.
An absolutely fantastic engine, especially with the performance enhancements carried out by RS Tuning (with an invoice for works).
It has often been said that the only real negative the R26R has, is that it could of done with a little bit more power to match the fantastic chassis and drivetrain.
With 276bhp on tap, this example is what we would call ”perfect”… a brilliant balance of power, handling and braking capabilities.
Don’t let the increased power figure put you off, at this power it is still well within its limits and the upgrades were all carried out by renowned Renault tuning specialists, RS Tuning.
A very quiet engine, with no rattles even when cold, and of course no smoking from the turbo at all, either on boost, idle, or overrun.
The car has always been extremely well looked after, and has always been allowed to warm up before being driven.
All running gear is in good order, and the car drives exactly as it should do.
Gear changes are brilliant, with no ”crunching” of the gears on the up or down shift, either when warm or even cold.
The clutch is lovely, steering very precise and quick and suspension is comfortable yet firm, just as Renault intended.
All tyres have plenty of tread, as do the brakes.
The front discs are new genuine Renault discs, and have not yet been bed in.
