History
One of only 300 produced to celebrate MV Agusta’s most successful World Champion – Giacomo Agostini, known to as AGO.
During Ago’s competitive life, he won no less than 122 Grand Prix and became the overall World Champion an unprecedented 15 times, which is commemorated by the 15 starred emblem on the top of the fuel tank.
This particular example has only 1 previous owner.
Both original & correct keys, along with correct booklets, AGO signed certificate, and original AGO cover.
Also in the file are MOT’s:
2009 – 1,261 miles
12 – 1,443
16 – 1,444
Also in the file are details of 5x services having been carried out.
Body & Paintwork
Of course as you would fully expect from this collectors piece, all bodywork is original and in fantastic order.
All panels are without damage, adn present just as they should do.
The legendary Red with Silver looks superb and the Yellow number 1 signifying the AGO as something rather special.
The Marchesini lightweight alloys contrast beautifully against the colour scheme, as do the unique F4 four pipe Arrow exhaust tips (which sounds superb).
The only notable mark on the bike is a mark to the rear wheel, on the edge which appears to have possibly been caused by a transport strap.
Interior & Trim
All trim is is very good condition.
Obviously things such as the handlebar grips are showing next to zero wear with only 1500 miles.
The top yoke is unmarked (often marked by keys in the ignition flapping around on to the top yoke), bar ends are undamaged, and the bike shows zero signs of ever being dropped.
The suede seat still looks superb and is yet another addition which sets the bar very high on the AGO editions variant.
Engine
The engine runs beautifully, even from cold on choke.
No rattles at all, lovely quiet top end of the engine (these bikes can be a little noisy at the top end of the engine).
All gears engage nicely, and the clutch operates perfectly well.
The bike rides smoothly through the rev range and gives impressive performance.
Running Gear
As with the rest of the bike, the high specification running gear is all original and in great order.
Marchesini forged lightweight wheels, Nissin Goldline Brake calipers, Magnesium swingarm, and Titanium Nitride Marzocchi forks all without faults.
Suspension and brakes feel fantastic, with superb braking performance and handling.
